I spent a whole summer looking at you from afar Talked to my friends through a screen Watched the planes cross the sky Visions of Mary and me passing out in the park While David sings love songs to you as you laugh and walk on I vaguely remember the feeling of letting it show Laced up my boots ripped my jeans and then let it all go Way past the shadows and through the night into abyss (Sat like a Buddha when I rode the subway downtown) There's you and me meeting at the Eternal Balance (Memories slipping from my subconscious to my dreams) Mom's on the front lawn building a nativity scene (Sharing a drink and a laugh at Eternal Balance)
