Sanctuary

So I went down to the water and paid tribute to the land I saw my only vision and she led me by the hand I said, "Forgive me sister for I know not what I've done I know the end is coming", and she said "It's just begun" And that she looks so fondly on those that come prepared She asks me why I'm frightened and I said "It's cause I'm scared" Cause all the kids I came up with have faced the status quo She said that it was nothing and I said it was known That all of us had sworn a pact to fight these end times Cause all of us was trying, but none of us had tried To force the hand of violence of allegiance to the state Cause some of us was bored to death, the rest just could relate And cruelty is an answer to the rattling of our chains Like death is just a silencing of screaming in our brains We walk the lines so patiently like lemmings through the field No longer do we stand a chance to face what pleasure yields And for nothing, and for nothing, and for nothing we awake To see the end so clearly and to laugh at our mistakes And for nothing, and for nothing, and for nothing we arise To force the hand of violence and to try to turn the tide.
