“One Moment” starts with a soft vocal run, like a whispered sweet nothing. Underneath it, a reverbed guitar riff mimics the sound. No wonder Jay B, the leader of K-pop group GOT7, decided to release this three-track solo EP on Valentine’s Day—it’s all melancholy romance, a considered love letter to his fans. Then, he moves into the breathy “Whiskey,” a kind of bold sexuality he’s grown much more comfortable performing since his solo debut on SOMO: Fume back in 2021. Closer “Wonder” is a hybrid of the two forms: soulful production, a falsetto flourish, and a moment of introspection. “I wonder/I wonder/I wonder/About Me,” he sings on the song’s post-chorus, a rare and welcome reflection.
