Artist Biography
Roberto Sanchez is a Spanish producer and musician who began working in the roots reggae and dub sphere in the mid-'90s. His obsession with re-creating the feel of sun-drenched, analog '70s recordings has attracted multiple like-minded souls to request his production services, making use of his co-owned A-Lone label and studio. His earliest recordings were in collaboration with Borja Juanco as Lone Watti, and later as Better Collie and Loud & Lone. Sanchez also often appeared as Lone Ark, and in 2003 formed the Lone Ark Riddim Force, a backing band who translated his authentic and organic sound in the studio and on-stage. Throughout the 2010s, he collaborated with acts such as the Rockers Disciples, Noel Ellis, Von Morgan, and Ras Teo. In 2022, Sanchez realized a dream by mixing the 18th Parallel's collaborative recordings with his idol Lee "Scratch" Perry for their Spring Thunderstorm EP.
