A2 is British rapper/songwriter/producer Wesley Bishop, whose work incorporates electronica, R&B, and hip-hop. Bishop was raised in Croydon, England by a mother who encouraged his and his sisters' musical interests. He learned the piano as a child and was later drawn to London rap and grime like So Solid, Dot Rotten, and Danny Weed. Preferring a more laid-back and textured style than he was necessarily listening to, he honed his songwriting, engineering, and producing skills, and his sound, and began to gain attention in the mid-2010s with a number of uploaded singles and EPs. Krept & Konan did a version of his song "Flowers x Patron" in 2015, and the same year A2 was featured on the Etta Bond and Raf Riley track "Never Did." In the meantime, he worked on finishing his debut LP, Blue. ~ Marcy Donelson
