Mexican pop/rock singer Cecilia Toussaint started her music career while participating in a band called la Nopalera in the late '70s, recording Crece La Audiencia and Tremendo Alboroto and making her debut as an actress in 1979. During the mid-'80s, Cecilia Toussaint worked as a radio station announcer, she also played roles in popular soap operas. After joining a group called Abril, the singer/actress decided to create her own project, named Arpía, recording a self-titled album in 1985. Helped by Chilean producer Carlos Narea and after her performance at Rockotitlán, a local rock festival, label executive Tomás Muñoz signed her up to Sony Music, releasing En Esta Ciudad in 1987, followed by 1990's Tírame Al Corazón, produced by Ronnie Foster in the U.S. In 1991, Cecilia Toussaint played a role in a successful short movie called Objetos Perdidos, acting along with Daniel Giménez. A year later, the artist issued her first live album, called Noche De Día, releasing Sirena De Trapo in 1993 and Detras Del Silencio in 1997. In the year 2000, the rock soloist was nominated for the Latin Grammy Awards for her song "Como La Nada" and recorded Un Cuarto Lleno De Espejos, produced by La Barranca's José Manuel Aguilera, that same year. ~ Drago Bonacich
