About Stanton Moore
Born in New Orleans in 1972, Stanton Moore started playing drums at an early age, drawing upon several aspects of the rich music scene of New Orleans as he grew up. Based in the city in the early ‘90s, he played regularly with Galactic, a funk band for which his assertive drum style was admirably suited. After graduating college, he and Galactic embarked on a U.S. tour and, eventually, a world tour. He has worked with guitarist Charlie Hunter and saxophonist Skerik, and played in Garage A Trois with those two. In the early 2000s, he was mainly heard leading his own bands, but he continued to play in Garage A Trois, which had added vibraphone player Mike Dillon, and in the New Orleans Klezmer All-Stars. ~ Rovi Staff
