An enigmatic Los Angeles singer and multi-instrumentalist, Daryl Johns makes a heady brew of bright lo-fi indie rock seasoned with jazz fusion, soft pop, Americana, and television jingles. During the first part of his career, he moved in the East Coast jazz scene, playing double bass with notables like Joe Lovano and Randy Brecker. He eventually headed west and became involved with L.A.'s indie and psych pop scenes, playing bass for Mac DeMarco, who signed Johns to his personal imprint, Mac's Record Label. After years of collaborating with others, Johns released his eponymous solo debut in late 2024.
