Not to be confused with prolific songwriters such as Harold Beasley Smith of "Sheik of Araby" fame, this Harold Smith scored a co-writing credit for the song portrait of "Skid Row" cut by the mildly demonic Jerry Lee Lewis. While confusion is circulating, it should be noted that this is not the same "Skid Row" recorded by Merle Haggard -- one of the Hag's own compositions -- and neither song has anything to do with the heavy metal band of the same name. ~ Eugene Chadbourne
