For more than 15 years, hard-partying Oklahoma City outfit Hinder has topped the charts while carrying the torch for old-fashioned rock ânâ roll.
â The group first took shape in 2001, after drummer Cody Hanson and guitarist Joe Garvey spotted vocalist Austin Winkler singing covers at a college party and asked him to join their band.
â Hinderâs 2005 debut album, Extreme Behavior, went triple Platinum after reaching No. 6 on the Billboard 200.
â âLips of an Angel,â the second single from Extreme Behavior, was an international smashâit hit No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and went to No. 1 in both Australia and New Zealand.
â In 2007, Hinder was inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame.
â Their Gold-certified sophomore album, 2008âs Take It to the Limit, featured a guest turn from Mötley CrĂŒe guitarist Mick Mars.
â Following the departure of Winkler in 2013âand shows with fill-in vocalists such as Jared Weeks of Saving AbelâHinderâs longtime producer Marshal Dutton took over as the bandâs lead singer.
