True to their name, Jamrud have been a shining gem in the Indonesian rock scene since their mid-’90s debut. 1995’s Nekad, a no-holds-barred tour de force of rock excellence, became an immediate success and sparked a continuous ascent for the Cimahi-based group. By the new millennium, Jamrud’s records were shifting in their millions thanks to a string of memorable anthems, including the controversial “Surti Tejo”. Acoustic stunner “Pelangi Di Matamu” has become their signature song and showcase of lead vocalist Krisyanto’s gravelly, emotive pipes.
