Guitarist and composer Jeff Parker is internationally recognized for a relaxed yet precise guitar playing style that adapts equally to vanguard improv, post-bop jazz, experimental electronic, funk, psychedelia, and indie rock. Parker, a founding member of Tortoise, has worked with Rob Mazurek, Makaya McCraven, Nicole Mitchell, Joshua Abrams, and many others. His recordings include 2004's post-bop Relatives, the live, solo, Slight Freedom (2015), and 2016's The New Breed with 2020's Suite for Max Brown; both reveled in neo-soul, funk, and hip-hop. In 2021, Parker released the solo guitar offering Forfolks, and in 2022, the live Mondays at the Enfield Tennis Academy, a Los Angeles bar with his longstanding ETA IVtet (they played there from 2016-2023 when it closed). Parker and ETA IVtet cut the the live The Way Out of Easy at the venue in a single night in 2023; International Anthem released it in 2024.
