Jess Connelly’s creative space is made of nostalgic fantasy. The local hero’s 2016 EP How I Love transformed the ex-TV personality into a musical favourite of underground Manila, where she worked hard to carve a name for herself using lush vocals and her wistful twist on new age-filtered R&B. In 2018, Jcon solidified Connelly’s chill aesthetic through beat-laden anthems that trace love and its permutations. Jcon’s popularity catapulted the artist to the international stage, where she has opened for acts such as Chance the Rapper, Macklemore and Kehlani.
