Pianist Jonathan Fournel won several major competitions, including Belgium's Concours Reine Elisabeth in 2021. Fournel's performances in that competition were compiled into an album that was released in 2021 as his album debut. Fournel's many chamber music collaborators include cellist Gautier Capuçon and violinist Augustin Dumay. Fournel's studio debut came in 2021 with a performance of Mendelssohn's Violin Sonata in F major, MWV 26, backing Dumay. Fournel returned in 2024 with the Mozarteum Orchestra of Salzburg, issuing an album of Mozart piano concertos.
