In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. A neighbour donated a nylon string guitar to us as a family and had always been in our house growing up, but I did not realise it's power and influence over me until I picked it up aged 7 and started to play - it changed my life.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bournemouth Sinfonietta, Martin Roscoe, Richard Studt, Tasmin Little, Arvo Pärt: Fratres; Tabula rasa; Spiegel im Spiegel; Summa Festina lente; Cantus in memoriam Benjamin Britten Brad Mehldau, Highway Rider Nitin Sawhney, Beyond Skin These albums have have a massive impact on how I think about music. They all go beyond just a listening experience and try to convey something deeper and they are all take you on a journey - political, emotional, spiritual.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Transition” This is the most personal music I have ever written. In the last few moments before my mother passed away, I felt time slow down, senses heightened, internal turmoil. This piece tries to capture that very moment.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Being shortlisted in the BBC Radio 3 Baroque Remixed competition and composing a piece for the BBC Concert Orchestra, conducted by the renowned conductor Charles Hazelwood.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? A concert performance at the Barbican, London - this is one of my favourite venues and would love to have a live performance there. The space is hugely special to me having seen my favourite performances and the sound is immense!
