With their traditional two-part vocal harmonies and electrifying fiddling set to a powerful rhythm section, Kalesijski Zvuci has brought the excitement of dance music to war-ravaged Bosnia. The group, which features Hasan Pozegic (vocals), Ramo Salkic (violin, sargija, vocals), Hazim Djedovic (electric guitar, violin), Senad Mesic (drums), Jusuf Osmanovic (accordion), Mimo Hajric (electric bass) and Neno Jelec (electric bass), released an album, Bosnian Breakdown: The Unpronounceable Beat of Sarajevo, in 1992, In a review of the album, Rock'N'Reel wrote, "Instantly a hit with my rhythm bone, and, simultaneously, setting the toes into a frantic tapping state." ~ Craig Harris
