The origins of indie-pop trio London Grammar can be traced back to the dorms at the University of Nottingham, where vocalist Hannah Reid and guitarist Dan Rothman first met in 2009.
â After moving to London and signing with the Ministry of Sound label, they released their debut EP, 2013âs Metal & Dust, and guested on Disclosureâs LP Settle a few months later.
â London Grammarâs 2013 debut album, If You Wait, won praise for Reidâs soulful vocals and went Platinum in several countries, peaking at No. 2 on both the UK and Australian charts.
â In 2014, they earned their first BRIT nomination and won two AIM Independent Music Awards, and their hauntingly beautiful single âStrongâ earned an Ivor Novello Award for Best Song.
â âHey Now,â a track from If You Wait that the band first posted online in 2012, got new life in 2015 when a remixed version was used in a high-end fragrance ad starring Charlize Theron.
â Their second LP, Truth Is a Beautiful Thingâwhich featured production from Paul Epworth and Jon Hopkinsâtopped the UK album charts in 2017.
â Reid teamed up with EDM artist Flume on his 2019 single âLet You Know,â which went Gold in Australia and cracked the Top 20 of Billboardâs Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart.
