Violist Máté Szűcs is one of the world's top chamber music players, collaborating with major solo musicians as well as playing in established ensembles. He also maintains a career as a soloist and is an important educator. Szűcs has a substantial recording catalog as a chamber musician and has also recorded as a soloist. From 2011 to 2018, he was a principal violist with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, and he performed the Bartók viola concerto with that group in 2017. Szűcs has appeared on recordings with several chamber groups, and in 2014, he had a solo role on the album The Hungarian Viola. In 2025, he performed on the album Mozart: 1, 2, 3, 4 - Solo, Duo, Trio, Quartet.
