Molina, Talbot, Lofgren & Young is an offshoot of Crazy Horse, the lumbering outfit that has served as Neil Young's regular backing band since 1969. This particular incarnation formed during the recording sessions for 2021's Barn, a Young album cut during the thick of the COVID-19 pandemic. Bassist Billy Talbot, drummer Ralph Molina, and guitarist Nils Lofgren wrote their own original songs during lockdown, and they also recorded them. Young made an appearance, contributing a live solo version of "Songs of the Seasons," helping to give the group a bit of a marquee buzz when they released their debut, All Roads Lead Home, in March 2023.
