Artist Biography
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Born and raised in Mexico’s Huasteca region meant being surrounded by beautiful and uplifting traditional folk music. I think one of the earliest songs I remember is a Son Jarocho version of La Bruja, because the story in the lyrics is wicked fun!
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Chelsea Wolfe, Birth of Violence Giolì & Assia, Fire Hell and Holy Water Tlacuatzin, Deja Que Corra el Hilo Birth of Violence is basically a masterclass in folk songwriting. Deja Que Corra el Hilo is a beautiful collection of Huasteca songs that will inject you instantly with joy and energy Fire Hell & Holy Water is a raw and powerful showcase of artistry
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Alma Mia (Extended Mix)” Alma Mia is my debut track. The title means 'My Soul' in English. Like its namesake; I put my whole soul in this song; blending powerful tribal drums with driving tech house grooves and Huasteca-style lyrics and vocals.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? My career is fairly new in a sense, so I think having being discovered and subsequently signed to Toolroom records is by far one of the best moments in my career.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Writing more tracks to showcase the beauty of Son Huasteco with the world I think a live performance with a Huapango dance/musician company would be the GOAT Play a show at Versailles, a girl can dream!
