In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My dad, composing music in his study. Discovering Bach, Beethoven, Brahms early on. Me, age 8 discovering Star Wars, me age 12 totally blown away seeing Koyaanisqatsi. Age 13 playing around with my dad's Roland Juno 60.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Aphex Twin, Richard D. James Album John Williams, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (The 20th Anniversary) Philip Glass, Koyaanisqatsi (Original Soundtrack) Original Soundtrack from the Film These albums made a big impression on me at several ages, guiding me to my musical vocabulary that I have today.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Gunner’s Theme” I wrote this theme as a demo for actor/director David Oyelowo, for me it fitted the tone of the script I was reading at that time. It is still one of the themes that I love the most.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Riding on an electric bike on Sunset Blvd when arriving in Los Angeles to score The Water Man is still a top "pinch-me" moment. Playing on Pukkelpop with my electronic music is another one.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? David Oyelowo predicted that I would be in the Oscar conversation one day...we'll see, just want to make music for beautiful projects and share humanity and love.
