About Polaris
Polaris is a Sydney, Australia-based metal band best known for combining metalcore aggression with post-rock soundscapes and intensely personal lyrics.
∙ The group was formed in 2012 by Jake Steinhauser and Daniel Furnari, who met at a high school battle of the bands.
∙ The Guilt & the Grief, their self-released 2016 EP, was a minor hit in Australia and landed them a deal with Resist Records.
∙ Their full-length debut, The Mortal Coil, reached No. 6 in Australia in 2017 and received an ARIA Awards nomination for Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album.
∙ Frontman Jamie Hails sang guest vocals on “Repulse,” a track from Australian metalcore band Daybreak’s acclaimed 2017 EP, Death Dreams.
∙ The Death of Me, Polaris’ second album, hit No. 3 in Australia in 2020, while also charting in Germany and the US.
