• Born in 1983, Shefali is the daughter of legendary Indian jazz singer Joe Alvares, who rose to prominence in the 1970s as leader of rock band The Savages.
• Shefali’s own musical break came when she was recruited by revered composer Pritam, who was looking for a singer to be the face and voice of some upbeat new tracks.
