The youngest affiliate of the Wu-Tang Clan, New York rapper Shyheim entered the scene with his debut album AKA the Rugged Child at the age of 16. His lyrical prowess impressed rappers with a skill level that would make any hip-hop fan forget about his age altogether. A native of Staten Island, Shyheim even spent time living with Wu-Tang member Ghostface Killah.
Shyheim released The Lost Generation in 1996, while the acclaimed Manchild followed in 1999. Into the 2000s, he issued The Greatest Story Never Told (2004), Enter the Bottom (2008), and Disrespectfully Speaking (2009). In 2014, he began a prison sentence after pleading guilty to second degree manslaughter for a hit-and-run; he was released in 2020. ~ Brad Mills
