Tell us why you chose this song. “Winterwood” This song was written by candlelight in a little trailer in the woods. The song chronicles my journeys through prairie and mountain as a hitchhiker and reflects on the beauty of the land, the sky, and everything in between.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Receiving the Polaris Music Prize nomination for my debut album, Sad-Eyed Lonesome Lady, which Pop Matters named the # 1 Canadian album of that year, and No Depression termed "a stunning debut." And, as always, playing my songs by a campfire.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Blood Moon is my first collaborative, full band album. It was co-produced by Juno award-winning producer John Raham and me. In May 2025, I will tour Europe/the UK with my new baby, supported by a band, to promote this album.
