About The Helio Sequence
Consisting of singer/guitarist Brandon Summers and keyboardist/drummer Benjamin Weikel, the Helio Sequence started out as a band heavily influenced by My Bloody Valentine and the Jesus & Mary Chain. By its fourth album, 2008’s KEEP YOUR EYES AHEAD, the Oregonian indie-rock duo had altered its sound considerably, with its atmospheric tendencies giving way to a more dynamic approach that makes room for acoustic-based songs. AHEAD also marks a change in Summers’s singing voice--the result of damage done on the road--but this grittier shift only heightens the act’s thoughtful, emotive aesthetic.
