About Yael Santé
Artist Biography
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My earliest musical memory goes back to when I was in elementary school. My dad used to pick me up in this Nissan he had, and he only played D'angelo, Musiq Soulchild and A Tribe Called Quest. I didn't know then, but I was falling in love with music.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Amy Winehouse, Back to Black D'Angelo, Brown Sugar Teena Marie, It Must Be Magic (Remastered) Remastered Brown Sugar released shorty after I was born in '95. Since then, it's always in rotation for me. Back to Black came into my life when I was a teen and from Amy I learned the value of honest writing. As for Teena, Square Biz altered my brain chemistry
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “The Room” To date, this song has my favorite lyrics I've written. It's such a poetic way of talking about love and intimacy. This is also the first song where I sat in the executive producer chair and I haven't left the seat since. I'll always enjoy this song.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Simple answer for this. When Timbaland told me "You sound amazing. Your tone is crazy." after listening my song "Element". I'll always remember that. I believe more memorable moments are to come.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I have so much on my artist bucket list and I keep adding to it. I'm a bit shy when I comes to interviews, but I dream to do a Hot One's interview. I've gone as far as to trying a bunch of hot sauce to prepare and I'm not a spicy food gal.
