There’s something genius about turning kids on to vegetables via cute, computer-animated singing versions of them. Created and (mostly) voiced by filmmaker Phil Vischer and director and writer Mike Nawrocki, VeggieTales came to life in the early ‘90s and has spent the following decades growing into a kids entertainment empire that includes various TV and streaming series, films, video games, podcasts, and original music and soundtracks. Stars Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber are kooky and lovable, whether they’re tackling cozy lullabies, classic nursery rhymes, epic Biblical stories, or simply silly songs. Featuring fresh-from-the-garden friends like Junior Asparagus, Laura Carrot, and Jimmy and Jerry Gourd, the VeggieTales crew may share humor and morality through a Christian lens but welcome all kids—and adults—to join in on the good, healthy fun.
