When John Frizzell was a student, jazz guitarist Joe Pass convinced him he was better suited to composing music than playing it. That lesson has paid serious dividends for Frizzell, who has become one of the most diverse and prolific composers for television and film since emerging in 1995. He made his mark as an essential collaborator with filmmaker Mike Judge, scoring Office Space and King of the Hill. But over the decades, he has proven equally adept at orchestral themes (particularly for horror films) and rock tunes. He even gamely scored Zappa, Alex Winter's 2020 documentary about the iconic guitarist and composer.
