Striking out on her own as a producer has brought even richer rewards. Her work with Reading hellraisers The Amazons is colored by the crisp, mountainous riffs that have become something of a Marks signature. And then there’s The Big Moon’s “Cupid” (part of her Mercury-nominated assist on the album Love in the 4th Dimension)—a fizzing eruption of cascading percussion, helter-skelter harmonies, and freewheeling attitude.
