With their red-hot blend of smooth jazz and R&B, Spyro Gyra have remained an international sensation for the past 40 years. Saxophonist Jay Beckenstein and keyboardist Tom Schuman founded the band in Buffalo, NY in the mid-'70s, and were breaking into the national scene by the end of the decade. Though their lineup would shift a number of times throughout their career, the group's willingness to incorporate pop arrangements as well as world influences would lead to them sell over 10 million records worldwide.
