To understand why Tangerine Dream are perhaps the most important new age group in history, it helps to know they've released over 100 albums during their 40-year career. They pioneered the sequencer technique that would remain the cornerstone of their sound during the ‘70s in Berlin, and explored krautrock, prog, and other electronic dance elements. Founder Edgar Froese has remained the heart of the band through numerous incarnations, and the group found increased notoriety when they were asked to score the 1985 Ridley Scott film Legend.
