Lil Durk is a product of Chicago's drill scene, with its dark lyrics and rapid-fire, drum-heavy beats reminiscent of early trap instrumentals. Durk rose to prominence in the '10s in part due to his versatility: He can float Auto-Tuned harmonies seamlessly into the waves of drums and bass, but can also deliver a choppy, enticing flow that can keep up with even the speediest beats-per-minute.
