Lyrics
And every night for the demise
The letting go of my anxiety
I strap em' up and lay it down
I watch the rubber melt the ground
My heart pulsating every bounce
I'm out of sight and out of mind
Never really been alone
These metal cages are my home
I could play all day all week
My escape my everything
This, my means of therapy
This, real life, ball therapy
24 seconds on the clock
Playing reckless will I survive
But I don't care I've got the rock
My painters brush my palette wide
Feel like da Vinci in his prime
Competing only with my shadow
Dancing round potholes I've designed
Please let me stay here for some time
It may take breaking
The whole stem shaking
The hem of the flower is aching
Its waiting, the pain of patience
Is frustrating
But that's the making
The dark
Places we're made in
I've played in all the cages
Of a concrete mind, I've been the
Withered rose in the crack
On the free throw line
I've then seen the colour pour
Back into these petals
Remember to stand tall
For the sunshine
To get to you, feel
Your chin rise, and feel
The muscles mould into
What they're meant to be. The
Release, is the great remedy
And there you'll find
The best of me, the me I had to
Build from the ashes
Of my memory so burn everything
Then learn again, that's
Where the lesson is, repurpose pain
I know where to come if I hurt again
Because here lives the healing
The beautiful game
