Punjabi pop singer and songwriter Nirvair Pannu has the sort of folky, soulful voice that infuses a certain gravitas into everything he does, be it a banger or a ballad. L.B.E—his second album in less than six months—is another genre-agnostic collection on which the artist sounds equally at home crooning about blossoming romance (R&B jam “Nazran” and dancehall-inflected ditty “Khyaal”) as he does celebrating brotherly bonds (the hip-hoppy “Barfest”). The sole sad moment arrives with “Peedan”, a track on which Pannu’s sorrowful delivery will resonate with anyone learning to heal from a broken heart.
