I called God and talked to God
I felt God and I heard God
I saw God, worshiped God
He knew my name
And called my name
I prayed to God
I thank God
I'll never be the same
Be the same
Yeah, I remember the first time I went to Tridentine Mass
Immersion in tradition like a blast from the past
I was taken aback
Captivated by a liturgy
That is swiftly, miraculously, and steadily making a comeback
The beauty of of tradition
The faith of our fathers
The enhancement of cognition
By the will of Our Father
It's the beauty of a language
That is dead but brings to life
The dormant faith with loveliness
That pierced my heart just like a knife
Summorum Pontificum; The Apostolic letter
That set free a liturgy that was confined in 1970
The highest form of worship in Extraordinary form
A paradigm shift from what I thought was the norm
I called God, I called God
And talked to God, and talked to God
I felt God, I felt God
And I heard God, and I heard God
I saw God, I saw God
And worshiped God, and worshiped God
He knew my name, he knew my name
And called my name, and He called my name
I prayed to God, I prayed to God
I thank God, and I thank God
I'll never be the same, be same
Be the same, I'll never be the same
Hey guitar, play how my heart was feeling that day
So why the Mass of the Ages
Well, this happened in stages
Pandemic 2020 brought us back to the middle ages
First came the sanitizer, then came the fear
Then the Sacrifice of the Mass
Was suspended about a year
Then came the live-stream
Not a suitable replacement
Followed by the dispensation
Of the Sunday obligation
Once the dust had settled
And we were told we could come back
Many chose to stay at home
Since they were told they could do that
And those who decided to come
The ones whose faith had grown some
Were denied the Eucharist
Simply for sticking out their tongue
The lack of faith in Eucharistic Jesus was exposed
So when saw the reverence of the Latin Mass
I chose to go
I called God, I called God
And talked to God, and talked to God
I felt God, I felt God
And I heard God, and I heard God
I saw God, I saw God
And worshiped God, and worshiped God
He knew my name, he knew my name
And called my name, and He called my name
I prayed to God, I prayed to God
I thank God, and I thank God
I'll never be the same, be same
Be the same, I'll never be the same
