Many go through tumultuous changes to become the person they want to be

Good and bad

Unfortunately

The bad is what's so often required to meet those expectations

For things to get better

They must first get worse

Perhaps things get so bad

That you don't see those ambitions you once had for yourself anymore

Hell you can't even recognise yourself

So you try and try to repair the brokenness that is you

But the wreckage is too severe to ever get back to that past self

The self so full of wonder and ignorance

The nostalgia's almost painful (cold even)

Yet you're still here

Throughout all of the pain and darkness concealed within

You're still alive

And that's worth something

Instead of clinging to someone that now doesn't exist

You began rebuilding

Rebuilding a new rendition of somebody who wants to make the most out of the one life they have

And with all the changes and adaptations

Those who came and went and those who are still here

You persevered

Silently going through hell and back not out of obligation

But instead as a purposeful decision to keep on living

Sometimes you don't even know why you keep going

But you do

For individuals

They never get a prologue or epilogue to their life

Just one opportunity to do something

Anything

And that anything isn't for your Mum

Dad

Brother

Family

Friends

Or anyone else out there whose paths you've crossed

That anything is for you

Because you deserve to live

To be someone that's finally accepting of themselves

To be someone that isn't in their head all the times

To be someone that's finally content

To be a new you

To be
