There was a young man that didn't believe and was unsaved
And every now, and then he would see his mother walking around the house talking about Jesus
One day he went to his mother and said, "Mother, I hear you talking about this Jesus all the time, and I'd like to know who He is"
She said, "Son, the Bible tells me He's the Son of God"
He said, "well, do you know Him? Where does He come from?"
She said, "Son, He was born in Bethlehem"
He said, "do you mean to tell me this Jesus that was born in Bethlehem, you know Him?"
She said, "yes, I know Him"
He said, "Mama, I need a little more proof, how do you know that you really know Him?"
She said, "Son, when you see me walking around here
I might be humming a little song, I might be crying, I may be wringing my hands
You may even hear me cry out, "thank you, Jesus, hallelujah"
He still wasn't convinced
He said, "well, have you seen Him?"
She said, "well, Son, I've never seen him, and I only know what the Bible told me, and deep down in my soul, I can feel him, and I know he's real"
So late that Sunday, about 5.30
The Son came to his mother and said, "Mother, if you'll let me, I would like to go to church with you, I'd like to find this Jesus that you keep talking about"
She said, "come on, Son, I'd like for you to go"
So they went on to church, and after the service, they had an altar call, and he ran down to the altar and fell down on his knees, (oh I feel like tellin' this thing tonight)
And he began to call on Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, and he looked back at his mom and said, "Mom, I'm calling him"
She said, "keep on calling him, Son", he kept on calling on the name of Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
He looked back at his mom and said, "Mom, I'm still calling him, but ain't nothing happening"
She said, "Son, you keep right on calling him"
She said, "the God, I serve, If you call and call him right, I guarantee you He'll save you"
After a while, she went to her son and touched him on the shoulder and said
"Well, Son, the last bus will be leaving and going home in about 10 minutes, and if you really want him, you better call him"
He told his mother, said, "Mother, go on home, but I'm going to stay here and call him just a little while longer"
And after a while, a strange sensation came over him
And he began to cry, "Thank you, Jesus, for saving me, thank you, Jesus, for sanctifying me, thank you, Jesus, for filling me with the Holy Ghost"
Lord Jesus, and as he was walking home, his steps began to get faster
After a while, he began to run, and after he got to the steps and went up on the porch
He said, "I'm going to have a surprise for her in the morning, not going to tell her tonight"
And as he got in his bed and tried to sleep, he just couldn't sleep
He began to cry, "thank you, Jesus"
You see, one thing about this thing, when you get it, and you get all over, you just can't sleep, you just can't keep still
He began to shout, "thank you, Jesus, for saving me thank you, Jesus, for filling me"
His mother got up and went to his room and said, "son, is there something wrong?"
He said, "Mama, this God that you've been walking around here talking about, she said, I think I got him tonight"
She said, "this Jesus you claim that you know, where did He come from?"
"He said, I don't know where He came from, he said, but I know I got Him"
"She said, well, son, I need a little more proof, I'm still not convinced that you got Him"
He said, "oh, yeah, Mama, I got Him, he said, when you see me tossing and turning like this
When you see me wringing my hands and crying, I thank you, Jesus"
He said, "that's something on the inside of me and I know it must be Jesus"
She said, "well, tell me something, if you know He's really real, say, tell me what happened to you"
And she said, he said, "Mama, when I was down on my knees, calling on Jesus, after a while something happened to me, and you know what it was?"
(He worked) ouu yeah (on me), I stayed down so
(He worked on me), He worked on me
He said, Mama, you see, once I was spiritually blind (when I was blind), I didn't believe it
But tonight I can say I really see (but now I see)
He said, not on that Mama, but right then, just that instant, he changed my life (He changed my life)
And the reason I'm crying is because I've got the victory Hallelujah (and given me victory)
He said, hallelujah (hallelujah)
He worked, hallelujah (hallelujah), oh Lord, Lord, Lord, Lord God, yeah, yeah
(He worked on me), He worked on me
