Silent Screams

When I wake up in the morning

And I’m thinking which way’s best

To throw myself off buildings

To land nicely on my head

It might be time to rethink

The direction of my path

Take back control of the black hole

That’s swallowing my heart

In a glass box staring out

My words fall silent all around

My mouth unmoving drowns me out

The pain deep in my chest I feel

Is like a spreading vine

Reaching out it’s tendrils

Like a cancer in my mind

Black like tar and thick like blood

Seeps in to every vein

Fighting feels so futile

While it’s paired with spreading shame

All the failure of my past

And on it goes through everything

The failure in the path I walk

That voice of treason on it sings

I can’t seem to block it out

I’m lost, I’m lonely, on my own

The hissing bile it always spouts

I am nothing, voices groan
