I can't believe it didn't matter

What I said, anymore

Would you believe me

If I told you I tried

I don't see the rhyme or reason

To keep up this facade

When it's so obvious

You never really cared

But I'm not saying I'm without fault

But I shouldn't be solely to blame

I'd just like some introspection

A look into how you treated me

Judge my every move and thought process

To cover up your infidelity

I tried

You can't say I didn't try

But if I'm being honest

It's not all your fault

We could share the blame

For what went wrong

But it's unlikely you will

Learn from your mistakes

But I'm just sorry I caused so much pain

There I go again

Taking credit for the times

You forced me out the door

Confused to come back in

I'm standing on your steps

I'm sitting in my car

Asking God what was it I did wrong

I never had the strength

To end it on my terms

Let this be a lesson I have learned
