Hey ma, I've been doing fine

you don't have to worry

'bout what it's like

to be working hard for

uncertainty and pride

Hey dad yes I'm doing good

please don't ask me something bout what I do

cause it's easier just

to lie than tell the truth

Why do I feel as if I'm talked about

while everybody's staring at

what seems to be my doubt

Why does it feel they try to count me out

I gotta be honest

honest about that I won't change in any way

Want a son and I want a daughter

own a house with a perfect garden

carve our names in the tree that never dies

I want mornings smelling coffee

coming down in my favourite jammies

laughing 'bout how we even made it here

And time will tell

what life will be

but I'm still scared

is that just me?
