I believe my life could take another direction But my convictions falter I remember how the shadows vanished in the movement of sunlight As I return, just in time from the old country, back to the city I didn't know then I would never see you again Today, of all days, the day that shook our world Now, a spring inside me is broken And nothing is like it used to be I wrote you letters, hopeful of tomorrow But I'm not sure they ever arrived Did they vanish like autumn leaves do? Abandoned, decayed by time? Or maybe you just gave up on me? Was I your dangerous distraction, or was I just not enough?
