For my chance to live the dream again
I feared that all the footprints we left were fading

An abyss that we had never known.
We'd landed on Mars but we'd learn how to breathe again
Without the oxygen we used to hold
I got used to how the river flowed
I got stuck in my ways

I wallowed in the pain of my own situation
Knowing full well it could be worse than this
Allowing for the waves of inspired creation
To balance the fear of the well runnin' dry
My suffering is one little drop in the bucket
When I look around and see the world
I only have one shot so I'm gonna love it
