Praying Fields

The thorny brush that lined the marsh

We jumped in with both feet

Sinking with the secrets that we promised we would keep

The praying fields under our heels

Can't hear the words we say

Launched into the wind and with the wind they float away

We talk about our love like it's not really there at all

We're pacing up the path as if we've been this way before

We're thinking all the thoughts that we don't want there anymore

Bare our sharpened teeth
