Reality Check

It’s no use looking

In the past and such

But one can’t help but ponder

What it would be like with the other

If those mistakes hadn’t been made

Would we have changed or just stayed

Tainted relations from the start

No matter who’s fault

Was it just bad timing

Or could we not possibly be

Who’s to say that we didn’t try

Our luck just ran dry

What’s done is done

It was never meant to be

We clearly wanted something different

If anything it lasted too long

You and I have moved on

We will never pick up where we left off

It was a long time ago

It is wise to know when to quit
