I was walking down the streets of business men and cheats
At the bars men were drinking while women folded their sheets
She was walking down my line, revolution was in the air
Everybody was to say she's mine, but no man could even think to care
I won't stop walking through this land
I'm a wandering man
I betrayed myself and nothing goes to plan
I'm a wandering man
She just moved from a different city when we first met
We were young and she was pure and
Pretty and she took me wherever she went
But we grew apart like it was meant to be, I wasn't old enough to mind
I never knew what I would miss, I was like a spoiled child
I was always looking up to the stars after I'd worked my shifts
Lived a life filled with broken guitars and making unfinished gifts
Then the borderline came shockingly and we rarely did ever talk
Then she traveled over the sea and all alone I now walk
I went to a local meeting place betraying all of my beliefs
I had a mask covering my face, I was just out there to release
Then she whispered in my ear: "Do you want to leave this joint?
I wonder how you've come to appear
In this place that just disappoints"
The music tangled up my ears, but I yet felt satisfied
She talked about her lost affairs
That disappeared in front of her eyes
She says she likes to write poems about her feeling to be free
But when midnight came to an end, she left it all up to me
We lived to be a couple for a while
But we were destined to someone else
We decided to leave each other behind right after the day ends
So I got a job as a circus clown, continuing my role
Living a life filled with many frowns and a desire for soul
