What Do I Really Know?

When I was 17

my Ma said, Boy, you don't listen to me.

I said I know

Mama, I know.

Now I'm 29

and I say I been there 'cause I done my time

and now I know

but what do I really know?

When I see

a clear blue sky

it brings peace

to my blue mind

and it's all I own.

To my clear blue sky

I know the clouds will roll

in time

This much I know by now, I know

that what do I really own?

Looks like I may never see the rain

looks like this may be the day

that good sunshine's gonna stay

but each time

I know

I'll change my mind

each time.

When I was just 17
