Don’t Say That
Beat: Rio (Marcus Camille) Oct 30 practice
Guess every revolution got the same part / in the movie where the solution thats mad dark / power stacked they can run but they still marks / rough terrain insane come to the same stark / conclusion refusing its within us / hamster wheel of regret w/ young beginners / no winners at least not at the level of sinners / blood money sex w/ chickens up in ya dinner / why fix the hunger when the game give new tricks / that believe in the promises swept under new bricks / wit 445 born every hour yeah no shit / the rigging started wit ya mama when daddy hit /
Hook (.41)
Try to medicate the pain while they watchin me / Guess it’s better to see the horizon than the cream / don’t say that the others might hear em scream / no messiah coming it was just a dream
Verse 2
While we watch white neo on his matrix flip / guess Thanos was black and he said don’t trip / f them niccas half gone for a full grip / that’s like the ivory coast and we ain’t gotta lift shit / see today that gives time to get the contracts lit / even in the struggle no man can brain split / long enough to care about them or he’ll lose his shit / what you expect this the dog ate your bitch / don’t trip this a new type of era / this a new type of terror not hanna to the barra right? / and don’t slip cause the tricks on who guess all of you dudes cause ain’t none of this shit new right? / same solution that it’s been in the beginning / do the right thing cause in the end we all sinnin / from the bottom to the top w/ same nicca grinnin / bamboozled is a skill for the sleeper still spinning
Hook (.41)
They Try to medicate the pain while they watchin me / Guess it’s better to see the horizon than the cream / don’t say that they others might hear em scream / there’s no messiah coming tell em that was just a dream
Bio on song
DONY SAY THAT is social commentary on the Age of Information and the truth that is seemingly being revealed about everything that most people hold true and sacred like religion. There are certainly aspects of the religious sector of society that seems to have a direct correlation to current events but many of the population waiting on a new messiah or savior quite often find themselves in hopeless endless cycles of disappointments that prove the only way society to change the dire circumstances of the poor or disenfranchised is for society to actually do the work required to change those dire circumstances to better ones. Don’t Say That attempts to discuss our fantasy mentality of deities, messiahs, super hero’s and false idols in an attempt to unlock the understanding that sometimes the true hero of the story is us. No aliens, messiahs or super hero’s required, just us.
