Yeah I miss California

A place that I should warn ya

You’ll probably fall in love with, if you ever go

Sure there’s still bills to pay

Life can sometimes get away

But I know my love is waiting for me back at home

She lives the actors dream

A nightmare too at times it seems

And I still cannot believe I married a movie star

She listens to her music

While my mind runs adrift

I wonder who I’d be If I never played guitar

My sister has two kids

The other lives in Washington

My brother is best friend,

My other best friend passed away

I try to call my parents

They’re always running errands

They love to tell their stories and listen when I play

I don’t like it when things change

Its not that I want my life plain

To be honest I just hate that my dog is going grey

And I’m not sure what this is

Perhaps a record that I lived

Or maybe its just what happens when you turn thirty-eight

So if your’e in California

Don’t say I didn’t warn ya

Its been nice getting to know ya, the last thing that I’ll say

Don’t be afraid to take your time

Fuck things up and step out of line

You only do this thing one time, so live your life that way
