Sometimes I wish I were alone on an island
But the loneliness would soon set in
Sometimes I wish I were up north in a cabin
But the cold winter would soon descend

Just launches a new destination
Memories drift by like clouds with no rain
Good friends laughing I forget about the pain
So I live at the edge of the city
Not too deep inside
Not far from the country
Where the land goes deep and wide
Not far from the people
Who let me share their lives
Not far from the history
That is realized
